1962 Free Agency Part 2

The rest of the offseason would be fairly straightforward with the remaining roster spots being filled up. The biggest move was likely WR Clyde McIntosh heading to the Louisville Thunder to reunite with the many former Athletics. He should add a bit more leadership to the younger WR core. Most of the remaining moves were to fill backup roles for teams. Only DB Mario Richard, who signed with Buffalo, is expected to start out of the gate this season.

There were a pair of trades that occurred as well. First, the Ottawa Royals had a lot of trouble trying to fill the backup QB role. They would attempt to bring in QB Terry Bourbon, but the QB decided he wanted to remain in the US and signed with the Raiders. In the end, the Royals would trade for one of Indiana’s QBs. Lee Rogers would be sent over the Royals in the second trade he has experienced in his time in the NAAF. The Royals would give up prospect RB Wally Morton and a 1963 3rd Round Pick.

The other move would have the Thunder looking to clear a little cap space and would trade RB Armondo Amaro to the Athletics in exchange for undrafted RB Neal Boeser. The Thunder would promote RB Greg Dix to fill the 3rd string RB role.
