1958 Coaching Changes

1958 Coaching Changes

There were not a lot of changes within coaching staffs this offseason, the biggest change was the Blue Wings’ GM position with the retirement of Bobby Hooper. The man replacing him is a former Rochester GM Dwight Gilbert. Gilbert had connections to Hooper and the Blue Wings from the NYFL days and they felt he was the best guy to take on the role for the future.

Worcester would also have to replace Kyle McCarty at the GM position. Surprisingly they went for Jack McKinnon who was the Gold Stars GM in the first few seasons before Virgil Gross had taken over.

Majority of the coaches needing new contracts were re-signed, only the Tigers’ DC Matthew Carson was let go and, Boston native, Ben McMillan was hired to replace him.
